Tour «Ancient Kyiv»

           Tour «Ancient Kyiv»
        Historical and cultural tour

Kyiv was the capital of the medieval state of Kyivan Rus. It is, to say the least, one of the
oldest and most majestic cities in Europe, with its more than 1,500 years long history. One of
the sources for the unmatched attractiveness of Kyiv is its unique constellation of museum
complexes: St. Sophia of Kyiv and Kyiv Cave Monastery, both included into the UNESCO’s
World Heritage List, the Golden Gates, St.Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery, Vydubychi
Monastery, and Churches of St. Cyril and St. Andrew. The charm of Kyiv also comes from the
architectural ensemble of the main Khreshchatyk street and the majestic hills on the banks
of the powerful Dnipro river, along which the trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks
once lay.
